Welcome to our wedding website! We have a special story and I hope to share our story and our wedding plans with all our friends and family through this page.  Below are blog type entries that I will try to use to keep you all up to date:

December 10th - We are back and trying to get into our normal routine.   We're married!!!!   And had a fantabulous time in Vegas and sightseeing/geocaching through the area for our honeymoon.   We have definitely decided we need to go back for one or our anniversaries ----<{@   See the Photo Album tab for a link to our trip photos

November 24th - A few items to note/update: A Big THANK YOU!!!!! to our animal babysitters while we are gone, Marks' brother Michael and good friend, Steve.
1) Just found out we get to be part of a series of LIVE segments that will be done the Friday morning before the race for the local FOX news :)   All I know so far is that we need to be in our wedding attire and show up by 6:45am at the Venetian.  Fun!!  I did ask and I will get the links so I can post them here for you all to see after the race.   But for any of my Vegas readers we may have.....get your morning coffee and watch for us! :)
2) Finally get to meet our blogger/runner friends Brandon and Teresa!(http://teambabydinosaur.blogspot.com/)  They will be running the half marathon.
3) Thanks to a generous wedding gift from my boss, we will be having a really nice dinner out together one night.
4) Sunday - RACE DAY!   We only know so far that the marriage couples will be in Wave 14 and you can sign up to "track" us here: https://www.competitorwireless.com/.  I think it may cost a buck or two.  Keep in mind our first split time will look really slow since we will be stopped for the ceremony :)

November 13th - We have our final "rehearsal" tomorrow.  Our last long run before we start to taper for the marathon.   Unfortunately our first snowfall was today and it dropped at least 10" of snow on us.  We're hoping it stays warm enough over night that the trails are melted by the morning.  Please note for any of you that would like to get us gifts (not required of anyone but I have been asked by a few people) we do have a link to our Macy's registry, otherwise we could make VERY good use of Home Depot and Target gift cards :)

October 20th- Links to the Marathon Course Map, Elevation Map and a link to sign up for Runner Tracking has been added to the "Ceremony on the Run" page.

October 14th- Been awhile since my last update so I decided to get in a quick post.   Not too much new in terms of wedding plans although since we've learned there will be a handful of people out in Vegas for the marathon, we're considering a sort of "reception dinner".   Just getting everyone together for dinner to celebrate Sunday evening after the marathon before the Post-Race party.

We're going to pick up Mark's wedding shoes tonight and get some tulle so I can start playing around with putting together my veil.

Training has us up to 18 miles this weekend, luckily the weather has been fantastic for us to train!

September 18th - In the middle of a crazy busy weekend with GeoCoin Fest in town but I did get an update that I had to share.  The Run-Through Wedding coordinators from the RnR marathon just sent us an email. "We wanted you to be the first to know that the 2010 Run-Thru Wedding Ceremony will take place on the bridge over the canals in front of The Venetian.  It is a fantastic and romantic location with lots of room for your friends and family to witness your special day..."   Very exciting!! :)

September 7th - Just under 3 months until the big day!! We are into week four of our marathon training and just had the best video session with Charlie and Mike from Forever Films. They are putting together a fantastic video for us and our wedding and we are so excited to take them with us to Vegas and see what the final video turns out to be :D

August 30th - Mark and I have been evaluating and planning out the next few months leading up to our destination wedding and needed to make a somewhat major modification to our plans.  We have decided that we will likely not be holding the reception back here at home the Friday following our LV Marathon wedding. In adding up the expenses, it's just not something we can afford right now and having to take on another job just to try to pay for it doesn't seem to make sense.

We are hoping that we can possibly plan for something down the road, maybe a less formal 1st anniversary party or something but we just wanted to let our friends and family that were already told about the Dec 10th date that we will likely not be holding the formal reception.

On a happier note, we do now have our hotel reservations in Vegas!  We are into our 3rd week of marathon training now and the big day is coming up fast :D

August 26th - Well we are working on reserving our rooms at the hotel and hope to gather the money to book our flights soon as well.  Thanks to blogging and the wedding contest, I have met (online) a few different couples that I am looking forward to meeting out in Vegas.  Our blogger friends, Team Baby Dinosaur will be out there running the half marathon and also a trail running couple that voted for us and I've been emailing with is doing their first road marathon. It's fun that the social media can introduce us to new people and we will get a chance to meet on our wedding day :) My next project is working on finding a place to get our visors embroidered and get the vail figured out.   Anyone have any cute ideas for attaching a veil to my SweatVac visor?  I'll be wearing it for the whole marathon.

August 12 - The results are in and we didn't win :( More details on our Vote for Us page of this website.  I added a fun photo gallery of some random fun photos of us to the Photo Album Page. Our latest blog post "Results are In" contains more details on where the planning is at :)

August 11 - Well the wedding contest oddly concluded last Friday and the website has stated, since Monday night "Check back tomorrow to see who won" It's 2 tomorrow's later...still no results. Just wanted to let you all know we are still waiting and hoping could #20 either didn't exist or totally cheated :-P. Other than that, the Save the Date cards are almost out the door and we ordered our blank visors today that we are going to decorate for the marathon. We also have another video session with our guys Mike and Charlie from Forever Films tomorrow. Should be fun :)

July 26 - Well it's now Mark and Kris 7, one big happy family! Blog Post - The Move And our Save the Date cards are in!  Time for me to get the final addresses together :)

July 11 - Thought you might be interested to check out my full blog post on The Move and our plans for consolidating into one house.  Blog Post - A Really Big Change

July 7 - We have our Save the Date cards ordered!  I was hoping to have them sent out by early July but oh well.  Things are a little nuts in our lives as we just made the decision last week that we will be doing a little remodeling at Mark's house to section off the upstairs with a door and allow me and the cats to move in.  Cats will have the upstairs and dogs will remain on the main level and basement.  We were hoping to sell my townhouse but looks like we might have to rent it out for now.

June 8- Our Engagement Photos are ready for viewing! I posted a link to them on our Photo Album, here is the link as well: Our Engagement Photos by Sarah McGee Photography

May 24 - The past few weeks have been trying on us financially but while it's very stressful, a few things are very exciting. Last Monday we went to Queen of Cakes to sit down and talk about our wedding cake and options for evening cupcakes. Their prices are very reasonable and we got plenty of options for cakes and frostings. Yikes seriously we EACH got like 10 half slices of cake on a platter to try. Both of us fell in love with the red velvet as top choice. We have some fun designs started but I think I'll keep that a secret and not spoil the surprise. We also signed a contract with Charles and Mike from Forever Films that will be helping us to capture our lives together and help us show off our wedding. When we met with them, they were totally on the same lines of thought that we were and had some great ideas. So after a lot of careful thought and many $$$ we've got a fantastic project in play! Again, not going to spoil the fun on this one, you'll have to be at the reception to be part of this one :)(And Charles, Mike, if you guys are reading this, I'm sure we'll get you to be Caribou Coffee fans before this is all over ;)

May 18 - We also got to take our engagement photos!! Last Tuesday our friend Sarah McGee, a fabulous photographer, took our photos down around Lake Nokomis which of course holds a very special place to both of us. We had a blast, the weather was perfect and I am anxiously waiting to see the final results! I'll show some off as soon as we get them :D

April 30 - Arthurs Jewelers Wedding Band Expo - Arthur's Jewelers was having a wedding band event and we had spoken with one of their salesmen, Gary, at the Twin Cities Wedding Fair.  So we decided to stop over there and hopefully find a wedding band for Mark since the deal was $100 off and no sales tax if you purchase that night. Well again little did we know that when we got there, they had sandwiches, fruit, veggies, a chocolate fountain, pop, beer and wine for the event shoppers. So we happily ate our way around the store and looked at a lot of different rings.   Gary was there to help us and was another fun person we've gotten to work with. Luckily Mark found a great ring at a good price AND we were well fed by time we left ;)

April 29 - Macy's Sip and Scan We've been getting a lot of emails now that we have attended a few different wedding expos. A few we ignore and a few we can't pass up. Like last Thursday. Macy's was having a special "Sip and Scan" event where you come in to create a registry at one of their stores and they feed you hors d'ouvres. We didn't think we'd really find a lot of things to register for but decided maybe we could get some free food and register for some fun items that we may or may not actually advertise. But let me tell you....check out our registry at Macy's please! We had a lot of fun and registered for some great grilling, kitchen and bedding items. Granted there are some fairly expensive items but there are a lot of reasonably priced items too. We both found it quite funny that when you walk in, they hand the woman the clipboard with the checklist and hand the guy the scanner :-P As we left we even got a gift bag with a few coupons and free champagne flutes. And I have to give a shout out to our Macy's "attendant" Walter. He was the registry expert that got us going and helped us through the process. He had a fun personality and was great to work with.

April 27 - We spent this evening at Atlas Grill for a complimentary tasting session. Wow, the food there is unbelievable! Plus the "tasting" was basically a full 4 course meal for both of us. We are considering this location for a special party before we go to Vegas for the marathon but nothing set yet. We are also going to a wedding band expo on Friday night to see if we can find Mark a ring.

April 15 - Mark and I have been attending wedding fairs and small expos we've been invited to and getting more ideas on things. Here's what we've got so far:
1) Found a great cake place last night in Edina (Queen of Cakes) that we think we are going to sit down with and talk about cake designs and options for late night cupcakes to go with the snacks around 9pm
2) Think we have a pretty good idea of what we are going to do with our "wedding party" to celebrate before we take off to Vegas. Details will come later as I don't want to ruin the surprise until we know for sure
3) We've got the colors pretty much figured out for our decorations/flowers but need to start talking with different florists to see who we want to use.
4) Putting down the deposit today on our reception site (The Garden Room in Eden Prairie)
5) I need to find running shoes for the marathon/wedding. Being as I'm going to be completing the marathon in them, I'm pretty particular on which brands/models I'll buy but I need to find ones that are white or mostly white with a pink that matches my pink top. Then at the same time we need to try and find all or mostly black running shoes for Mark. I love Asics and Mark runs in Mizunos.

April 9 - We have exhausted the wedding fairs and expos that have gone on this spring and we have decided we are going to put our deposit down on the Garden Room for our reception. I'm still very undecided and a little stressed about how we are going to recognize our wedding party since we aren't doing the full formal "thing" for our reception. Ideas accepted, please :)

March 25 - We do have the big Twin Cities Wedding Fair coming up next weekend and after that we are going to start making some decisions and probably putting down the deposit on our reception site. I think the Garden Room is still coming in first place due to the great space and price but we'll see if we find anything else.

March 6 - Chanhassen Wedding Expo - I think we came out with a few good ideas and even won a 50% discount on DJ services which we think we are going to take advantage of. It's always fun to walk around those expos sampling too many pieces of cake and telling people about our destination wedding and waiting to see if you get a "wow fun!" reaction or a deer-in-the-headlights "what the hell would you do that for?" look and a "oh, wow, that's nice" reaction. I personally like getting a mix of both to keep things fun :-P we did also want to check out the rooms they have available for rental for our reception.
